We start from your Sarajevo Hotel and transfer (approx. 2 hours) to Mostar where we have a whole day to visit this beautiful Herzegovinian city. Through the centuries Mostar became the meeting point of various cultures and religions. Mostar was originally founded in the 15th Century and the architecture is a precious combination of Turkish ingenuity and Herzegovinian and Dalmatian workmanship. We will start the day with a city tour of  Mostar, a city that was famously split during the conflict of the early 1990s. You will still see the scars of war, but these days Mostar is once again a warm and bustling place with an intriguing history. During the guided sightseeing you will witness the imprint left by this varied history. Besides the Old Bridge (Stari Most), the symbol of the town, you have the chance to visit one of the Mosques of Mostar, a Turkish house, and the Old Bazaar.

After Mostar, we travel to the nearby village of Blagaj. Blagaj’s highlights are the Buna Spring and the adjacent Ottoman house/monastery. The spring is amazing. It flows out of a 200m cliff wall and single-handedly creates the Buna River. Unsurprisingly, the Ottoman sultan was impressed, and ordered a tekija to be built right next to it. This 16th-century house/monastery was built for the Dervish cults and is still one of the most mystical places in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Blagaj's old town is worth taking a walk through. This lazy Herzegovinan town moves at a slow pace and many of its old structures are reminiscent of Ottoman days. A newly built heritage trail around the town is a rather pleasant 30-45 minute walk around the town starting at the Tekija Dervish House and visiting the Velagić house built in the 17th century a beautiful example of Ottoman stone masonry. In the vicinity are also old flour mills that the strong Buna powered.

After the visit to the monastery, we will enjoy in one of the local restaurants situated on the very Buna spring. The specialty in these restaurants is fresh fish dishes but they offer a variety to chose from.

We continue our Hercegovina discovery tour with a 40min transfer to the nearby city of Citluk where we are going to visit one of the local family-owned wine productions. Here we will be introduced to locally produced wines where you will have the opportunity to taste and buy the local products. After the wine tasting, we will head back to Sarajevo.
